Week 4: SkeeeYee! Remains King of the Hill

Week 4 started with only 1 remaining undefeated team left. Teams continued their fight to remain or gain relevance. Others started or continued their downward trend towards missing the playoffs. With a quarter of the season already gone, teams have already started their playoff push. Here’s what happened this week in the League of Extraordinary RNs and Allies.

It was belt to ass in the matchup between Team Bigblack74 and Team Hunt420. Team Bigblack74 notched their first victory of the year, 186.30-138.50. Ashton Jeanty finally showed up for the squad with his 40 point performance. A big brain move by the manager of the once winless squad proved to pay dividends for Team Bigblack74 as Woody Marks went for 30.40 fantasy points on 22 opportunities. Big day for the team as they hope to carry this momentum into Week 5. As for Team Hunt420, they’ll look to get back into the win column next week. Though, losing a player like Lamar Jackson to a hamstring injury and receiving mid performances from Ja’Marr Chase, it will be an uphill battle for the fringe contending team.

From one blowout to another, Njigbas With Attitude handled the still winless Team Sanders32 182.98-138.52. Team Sanders32 gave a valiant effort with another solid performance that would have been good enough to beat half the league. Even with every starter scoring in the double digits, it just wasn’t good enough to oust the #2 team in the league. They have an opportunity to finally get their first win of the year as they take on another winless team RUB ME OUT IM STIFF. The winning squad of this matchup has a 2 game win-streak going into Week 5. Their next opponent is against the team they beat in the title game of the inaugural season, SkeeeYee!.

There were close games across the league in  Week 4, but none closer than the one between RUB ME OUT IM STIFF and SkeeeYee!. The friendly rivalry reached new heights as .12 points was the deciding factor in this bout. The difference of 2 yards would have been enough for the winless RUB ME OUT IM STIFF, but that did not happen. The Green Bay Packers defense was doing their best Paul Crewe impersonation  by throwing the game with their -3.00 point game. RUB ME OUT STIFF cannot catch a break, but their luck may turn around when they face another bottom of the table team, Team Sanders32. SkeeeYee! continues their winning ways as they stand as the lone undefeated team in the league, but losing a player like Malik Nabers will greatly impact this team. The manager of the streaking team hopes Emeka Egbuka and Deebo Samuel can do the heavy lifting for the rest of the season.

Another close matchup, Team ColeWorldNoRelation and Team Chenzzzzo, started with controversy. Jaylen Warren was suddenly listed as “Out” an hour before the game. This news rolled in while the PST crowd was still asleep. The manager of Team ColeWorldNoRelation missed the opportunity to sub out the newly sidelined player. He was disgruntled about the late scratch by exclaiming “I woke up to that bs.” Not even DK’s season high 29.60 points was enough to get this team back to their winning ways. Baltimore’s defense only added to the issues due to their disappointing outing. The once contending team even lost Tyreek Hill for the year due to a gruesome leg injury. They will look to stop the slide next week against Team Hunt420. Team Chenzzzzo is slowly building their case as one of the top contending teams of the league. At 3-1, they’re the #4 team in the league with a decent probability of making the playoffs. Week 5 will be another opportunity to push their chances of making it to the big dance as they go up against Team Bigblack74.

The game of the week, Toxic Tevin’s Eleven and Swifties, favored the Swifties in the early going. That remained the case throughout the entire matchup. Josh Jacobs gave the Cowboys defense crazy work putting up 35.20 points for the Swifties. They also got an immense amount of help from a Lions defense that went 10.45 points above their projection. This is surprisingly new territory for the Swifties. They’ve struggled to make the playoffs for the entire existence of the league. They’re hopeful that things are finally heading in the direction to make them playoff bound. Toxic Tevin’s Eleven keeps trading wins for losses in their see-saw-like season. They remain within the top half of the league and look to remain in playoff contention when they move into Week 5 to face Joe Buckyourself.

In the last matchup, Remember the Titan did just enough to beat Joe Buckyourself. Both teams underwhelmed according to their weekly total projection, but it was still close for the entire game. Their QBs matched each other’s performance by posting over 30 points each. The deciding factor was the difference in production at the flex position. Joe Buckyourself flex players could only muster up 5.40 points compared to Remember the Titan’s 20.50. Speaking of mustard, Bijan Robinson had a monster game with 33.10 which helped the victorious team overcome the 4.50 combined points from their starting wide receivers. Both teams stand at 2-2 and will continue to fight their way into playoff relevancy.

With Week 4 in the books, Week 5 is upon us. A third of the season will have passed with the playoff race as tight as ever. More will continue to reveal itself as the season continues. Continue setting your roster and making the necessary moves to improve your team. The trade deadline will be here in no time, so get those trades in to make your playoff push. Good luck to all and welcome to Week 5.
